The British theme should be over the top! Just Brilliant!

America in Bloom will again have a beautiful 15 x 20' display garden in Exhibit Hall B at the
Philadelphia Flower Show, March 2-10, 2013. The show's theme, "Brilliant" spotlights the culture, design, landscapes, and gardens of Great Britain. The show, produced by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society (PHS) is the oldest and largest indoor flower show in the U.S. Last year, more than 270,000 people attended. This year's show promises to be the most design-focused and modern in its floral installations since the show's existence - balancing the avant-garde with down-to-earth advice for the home and garden.
We're so excited to have two outstanding experts volunteering to create the design AIB's 2013 display garden. Jim Sutton, display designer and landscape designer Laura Culver, both of world famous Longwood Gardens are creating an engaging design that will welcome and enchant guests. Check back often as we add more details on the design.
Among the nurseries custom-growing plants for the display is Peacetree Farms in Kintnersville, PA, which will be providing Senettis and other cultivars. Spring Meadow Growers of Grand Haven, MI are donating shrubs for the garden.
Participation in Britain in Bloom has been a way of life in Britain for more than 50 years. It is one of the successful models for America in Bloom.
Several America in Bloom judges and board members will be present all week in the garden. Stop by and say hello. Evelyn Alemanni will be giving a talk on March 4 called "Beyond Begonias on the Balcony - Bringing Beauty to Your Entire Town". The talk will highlight some of the creative ideas implemented by America in Bloom participating towns.
Last year's exhibit won an award for "Best Achievement for Depicting Horticulture as a Way to Create Community".
